In journalism, this article is known as a fluff piece. No real substance, written only as PR and nothing else. I would expect little more of the author if the subject were Hitler,Adolph. Haag is a corprorate mouthpiece, representing scoundrels before in private practice and as US butcher for N Cali. No surprise that a major money bag for Haag is the same one for Schuette, AG of Michigan, Dow Chemical. Dow is a major supplier of the chemical ingrediants used by the world's pharmamafia and Schuette is as wacko as Haag when it comes to preventing people from access nature's medicine.

I am just starting research on Ms. Haag/Muir? but seem to find so much contradiction with what she is doing now with a crackdown on MJ compared to her earlier work. Hi Sarah. Came here from Zek's blog about the MRM, Mens Rights Movement. Saw what you said about how maybe one is needed in the western world but not in the east, and I agree. However, there is a huge one going on in India of all places right now. What on earth are Indian men complaining about?
Their wives asking them if the couple can get their own place instead of having to live with his parents as is the custom there!

Hey Sarah!

It's been so long since I've posted anything on your blog, so I thought I'd say hey. Also, I discussed this article in one of the courses I'm taking this semester. I read this article when it was a mere plug in the NYT for Chua's book.

When I read the NYT article I couldn't help but wonder how much of that article was embellished. Some of the tactics she uses might be "based upon fact," but Chua herself even suggests in the NYT article that her book is a somewhat watered-down version of the flaming points presented in the article. The article's hyperbolic nature would naturally lead to more copies of the book sold, though.

Also, it's interesting to me how she characterizes her style of parenting as "Chinese" parenting. Chua herself is an Asian American woman brought up by Chinese parents, and she's married to a white man named Jed. I don't think it's necessarily appropriate to label her style of parenting as purely Chinese since she is raising her kids in American and the kids' father is white. So, in a sense, Chua diametrically opposes this "Tiger mom" Chinese style of parenting with an alleged "white" style, and it all seems a bit ridiculous to me. I think she is just trying to sell books in the end. There is no prototypical style.

Anyway, this commentary may be a bit unrelated to the meat of your post, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway.

President Obama's disavowal of the principle enunciated in the Ogden memorandum has not gone unnoticed. We the People of the United States demand the resignations of Attorney General Holder and US Attorney Melinda Haag. The dissolution of the DEA and the repeal of the Controlled Substances Act are essential elements of our determination that America become once again "the land of the free". Our status as the leading prison-nation in the world is a completely unacceptable outrage, and drastically reducing our prison population must be America’s first priority.

Haag's memo reveals the so-called "United States Justice Department" to be an illegitimate institution waging war against the people of the United States, and an enemy of American liberty. Real Americans will act against the criminal gang of fascists controlling the Congress, many state legislatures, the courts, and their Schutzstaffel, the Injustice Department. No terrorist or serial murderer threatens our society more than rabid animals like Haag and the dupes who continue to prop them up.

Obama's failure to resist fascism renders him unfit to serve a second term. People who use cannabis read, think, and vote. I for one am done with the kind of political expediency which has allowed the Greater and Lesser Fascist Parties to control our private lives.
